FAQ

A: We are based in Roadtown, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. You can fly either to Beef Island airport on Tortola or to St. Thomas, USVI and take a 50 minute ferry ride to Tortola. St. Thomas is sometimes less expensive than Beef Island, but allow time for the ferry. If you fly in to St. Thomas, take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie, USVI to Roadtown, BVI.
A: We provide the boat (yes, it includes a boat!) and a captain. Also a dinghy (we'll use this as our taxi to get from where we anchor to shore). We pay for all the fuel, water, mooring fees, etc., and the various permits and fees needed to cruise in the British Virgin Islands.
Q: What is NOT included in my charter?
A: Your airfare to the British Virgin Islands. Your transfers to/from the airport and the boat. Provisioning (that's sailing talk for "food and drink").
Q: Why isn't provisioning included?
A: We will provision the boat for you upon request, but we customize it for your needs. (Why pay for all the meals if you want to eat ashore everyday?) When we do provision for you, we do it with no markup (what we pay is what you pay). For first time charterers, a good plan is to provision for all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and half the dinners. This leaves more time during the day for fun stuff instead of sitting in a restaurant, but allows you to sample the local food a few nights out. But it's your vacation, so if you are on the all banana daiquiri diet, we'll provision the boat with 300 bananas and a case of rum.
Q: Will I get seasick?
A: Probably not. Even if you are prone to seasickness, the motion of a sailing catamaran is minimal because of the way it's designed. (It's why there are no drink holders on the boat. Put a drink down and it stays there instead of tipping over when a wave hits). Also, the water between the British Virgin Islands tends to be smooth because of how the islands are laid out geographically.
